Anne-Marie Fitzgerald has served as Vice President and Chief Operations Officer at Facing History & Ourselves since 2017. She joined Facing History in 2014 as Chief Officer for Regional Operations.
Anne-Marie ensures our operational areas best advance our programs and mission, providing strong direction to our fundraisers and support teams. This includes guiding our seven regional offices in the US and entities in Canada and the UK. She is also responsible for governance of our Board of Directors and Leadership Council.
Before joining Facing History, Anne-Marie was the National Executive Director for Reach Out and Read, a nonprofit that provides early literacy intervention and school readiness to young children and their families. With an annual budget of $30 million, she administered the entire organization while leading over 100 employees across 26 locations. In her 13 years at Reach Out, Anne-Marie also held the following positions: Director of Development and Communications; Director of Institutional Advancement; Vice President of National Programs; Chief Operating Officer. Anne-Marie volunteers her time as a board or committee member to the Cambridge School of Weston, RESPOND Women's Shelter, Fayerweather Street School, and Bridgewater State College.
Anne-Marie attended Wheaton College and received a BA from Bridgewater State University.
